I wrote up some lyrics for the first time in a while this past week. These are not them, but are unpublished words that I wrote back in February (according to my computer). Nights like these are the nights I long to be making music again.
Sinking, within the city on the coast I found myself sinking.
Waiting, an impression that someone else would find me waiting.
Praying, with vague words and idle phrases in my scattered praying.
Washing, away the dirt of my past and my present and my future forever washing.
This day I am still free, unburdened by longing
This world cannot hold me down; I’ve been touched by love.
I will forever sing with delight, forever feel right.
For today I am still free, and tomorrow will ever be.
Seeking, I wanted to know what makes this world turn and it lead me seeking.
Doubting, constantly told that there was no more than what my eyes see brought in doubting.
Revealing, but my eyes were graced with beauteous sights and His revealing
Falling, to my knees and a humble head dropped at the sight of grace falling
Upon my broken body.
I tell you now, I am more than a mere conqueror, I am an image for that which is unseen.
I am a light to the poor and prideful, I am sinful man redeemed.
