Lyrical Filler

Decided to give myself some lyrics to look at whenever I go over the things I've written. Keeps me from thinking too much.
First song is an UnderOath song that I felt I could relate to. The second song I wrote well over 2 years ago. It's weird looking into my past through lyrics I've written.

Breathing In A New Mentality by UnderOath:

I'm the desperate
And you're the Savior
There's been something else
Talking in my ear
Someone save me
When I speak it begins to decay
I'm not about to bury myself
Oh, God! My hands are shaking again
Calm down! Now I can't feel the floor
And my vision takes it's toll on me

Oh, God! It's racing through my veins
I'm afraid there must be some kind of mistake
Oh, I'm in over my head again
reach in and grab a hold of me
I'm so scared that I've started to slip
They say that I'll never change
I'll prove them wrong
It's over
I hear the calling but its passing through
Clean me up show me how to live
Tear me down
Let me start again

Sometime in late 2007/early 2008. The exact circumstance of these lyrics do not really pertain to me anymore, but I remember what was going through my head extremely vividly.

How can it be?
I’m caught in a mask of a face of a time that doesn’t exist
When will I be free?
Torn from all these lies I use to hide the truth, yet I persist.

I have no one to blame but the one I see in the mirror
Misty eyes and a dark expression are marks of this figure

I hoped I would define the line this time
But I can’t go off and just change your mind

He haunts my dreams. Telling me everything that I’m not.
Is there some cure for this? A remedy yet to be bought.

What would I pay to rid myself of your face?
I can’t be free as long as there remains such beauty, if but a trace.

And yet

Your smile will calm my heart
And I’m back here to the start
Can’t you just play the part
Of my soul that brings peace to my mind

Oh how I love her joy
Bring me back from a cold man to a new boy

Her voice is an angel her voice is an angel her voice is an angel

Won’t it come rescue me.

  1. I really like the lyrics. I like reading people's writings and songs and poems because you get to see a side of them they couldn't just tell you about.

I feel like I can relate to a lot of what you say and we oddly have a lot in common. Not going to lie, I definitely agreed that day when you said, "Let's just be best friends," because we were in the same (type of) boat.

It's also nice to look into the past. Though sometimes it's a little uncomfortable or weird. Or sad.
